The Dave Hawkins Memorial Hockey Game is cherished by all. Not only was Dave Hawkins a huge part of the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, he was also known by many young female players as Coach. Dave was an amazing co-worker, friend, coach, dad and husband. This game is to celebrate Dave Hawkins and remember everything has done for our community, while raising money for our local health care facilities. This game represents community.
Our 2026 Dave Hawkins Memorial Hockey Game had our most successful year yet, raising over $9500!!
Dave's grandson Jack started the game by dropping the puck, alongside Dave's daughter Katie and his wife Christine. And Josie Costigan honored us with her beautiful rendition of the national anthem.
The RCMP and Hospital Hockey Teams played an amazing game of hockey that had fans cheering! Thank you to both teams for raising a ton of donations for the cause!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support both teams! Thank you to our amazing volunteers who help make everything run so smoothly. And of course, a special thank you to our corporate sponsors. Their generous donations help make this event such a huge success!
The Discovery Health Care Foundation is already planning next year's game!
